The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed to equip individuals with essential first aid skills in a workplace setting. This qualification meets the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for first aid training in the UK. The course covers a variety of fundamental topics to prepare participants for emergency situations.

Key topics covered in this course include: Roles and Responsibilities of a First Aider, Primary Survey and the Secondary Assessment, CPR and the Use of a Defibrillator, Managing an Unconscious Casualty,  Identifying and assisting a choking individual, Recognising and administering First Aid to an individual having a seizure, Recognising different types of wounds and bleeding and how to deal with them and Recognising and administering first aid to a casualty in shock, Treating minor injuries such as small cuts, grazes, bruises, and minor burns and scalds.

The certification for this course is valid for 3 years. It is highly recommended that the course is re-booked before the expiration date.

*HSE strongly recommends that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training, over half a day, during any three-year certification period. Although not mandatory, this will help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first-aid procedures.
