Do I need a Health and Safety policy?

Yes, legally, if you have five or more employees, you must have a written Health and Safety policy.

Do I need Health and Safety advice?

As an employer, you must appoint someone competent to help you meet your health and safety duties. A competent person has the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to manage health and safety within your business.

Do I need Risk Assessments?

If you have 5 or more employees, you have to have written risk assessments where you need to identify significant hazards within your workplace and put suitable and sufficient control measures in place. Opex Safety Services can provide all this and more, taking the stress away of managing health & safety so you can concentrate on other aspects of your business.

Do I need Health and Safety training?

Health and safety legislation requires you to provide appropriate health and safety training, guidance and information to ensure your employees are not at risk. Health and Safety training from Opex HSE Services Ltd supports your efforts in this and provides up to date, practical training to guide you through day to day problems which can arise at any time.

As a business owner, you have a responsibility to make sure your employees are safe and like many employers, you may not be in a position to provide this training on your own, in which case you will need competent help.

Do I need to comply with CDM 2015?

If you are planning on getting construction work done, involved in the design or involved in the construction works the answer is yes.

Specific duties must be complied with if you are a Client, Designer, Principal Contractor or Contractor

Irrespective of the size of project there is no threshold for the implementation of CDM 2015 and it applies to ALL construction projects including domestic works.

CDM 2015 introduced the requirement on projects with more than one contractor to have a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
