Key topics covered include the role and responsibilities of the fire marshal, fire prevention, fire detection and alarms, monitoring procedures, evacuation procedures, fire extinguisher types and their safe use and liaising with the emergency services and assisting in drills and real-life scenarios.

Existing Fire Marshals/Wardens/Stewards including new Fire Marshals and also anyone in a management, supervisory or team leader role who has H&S responsibilities for their staff or others such as the general public, students, clients etc, the course can also be utilised as a general fire safety awareness course for all staff members.

  • The Components of a Fire: Understanding the fire triangle and how fires develop and spread
  • Fire Prevention: Identifying potential fire hazards and implementing measures to prevent fires on a proactive basis
  • Fire Detection and alarms: Knowledge of fire detection systems and alarm procedures
  • Fire Extinguisher Use: selecting and using various types of fire extinguishers effectively
  • Evacuation Procedures: Planning and executing safe and efficient evacuation plans including PEEPS
  • Emergency Coordination: Coordinating with emergency services and assisting in drills and real-life scenarios
  • Role and Responsibilities: Understanding the duties of a Fire Marshal in maintaining fire safety
