The North West's Leading Provider of First Aid Courses
The Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) training provides individuals with comprehensive knowledge and skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the workplace.
This course is designed to meet the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements for first aid training in the UK.
Participants learn essential first aid techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and managing various medical emergencies such as choking, bleeding and unconsciousness.
The training also covers assessing and managing incidents safely, ensuring a prompt and appropriate response in the event of an emergency.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years, demonstrating their ability to provide vital first aid assistance in the workplace.
Who Should Attend
Anyone working in a mid to high risk work environment.
If unsure about the level of training required and the number of first aiders needed, it is highly recommended that a First Aid Needs Analysis is undertaken to determine risk levels within the work environment and also that appropriate numbers of personnel are available at all times to deliver first aid if required for both injury and illness.
Risk assessors should consider likelihood and severity of harm, injury, illness that could be caused based on the type of work and activities undertaken within the work environment.
Others factors to consider when deciding the numbers of first aiders includes the numbers of people that could be affected as well as checking accident and incident records along with consideration of work and shift patterns.
Worksites and public areas where high volumes of personnel and/or the general public are present would also be grounds for appointing first aiders with more in-depth training i.e. FAW (3 day).
