Yes, legally, if you have five or more employees, you must have a written Health and Safety policy.
As an employer, you must appoint someone competent to help you meet your health and safety duties. A competent person has the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to manage health and safety within your business.
If you have 5 or more employees, you have to have written risk assessments where you need to identify significant hazards within your workplace and put suitable and sufficient control measures in place.
