OPEX HSE Services provides reactive monitoring and workplace accident investigation services. This is aimed at helping businesses protect themselves in the event of compensation claims or enforcement actions. We conduct thorough investigations into accidents resulting from injuries, illnesses, property damage, or near misses, identifying root causes and offering recommendations.

Our advisors offer expert advice during enforcement actions and collaborate with Health and Safety lawyers for cases going to court. We assist employers in preparing their cases and provide expert guidance when communicating with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), including challenging or appealing enforcement notices or prosecutions when justified.

Enforcement actions by the HSE can occur following accidents or dangerous occurrences, planned or unplanned visits by regulators, or complaints by employees or third parties. Responses to minor complaints may involve providing explanations by email or letter with supporting evidence, while more serious matters can lead to enforcement notices or “Fees for Intervention” (FFI). For material breaches, the HSE charges employers for their time until the breach is resolved.
