IQ Student Accommodation, Oxford
OPEX HSE services provide CDM services to include Client CDM compliance inspections and Principal Designer services for numerous IQ student accommodation properties over the last 5-year period. The works have been spread across numerous work streams to include new build properties, Refurbishment of bedrooms and amenity spaces, Extensions to existing properties, Maintenance works to include re-roofing properties and cladding works.
Manchester Town Hall
OPEX HSE services are delivering H&S compliance inspections and training for numerous contractors on this flag ship renovation of the Manchester Town Hall being undertaken by Lend Lease. Works have been complex with contractors ranging from stone masons, roofing contractors through to internal fit out contractors. Our compliance inspections have led to a good working relationship with the Principal contractor with referrals of our services being passed over from since we started on site on 2020.
Co-op Arena, Manchester
On the COOP arena at the Etihad stadium in Manchester we undertook regular H&S compliance inspections for drylining and plastering works . Our client were acting as sub-contractor for the Principal Contractor BAM construction on this prestigious construction project. On this fast-paced complex project we assisted in giving H&S advice and guidance which led to a safe and successful project.
British Salt, Middlewich
Our longstanding client was acting as Principal Contractor on the new build of a new facility at the British salt site at Middlewich. OPEX HSE services Ltd assisted with the setting up of H&S documentation including the Construction Phase plan and Method statements and gave a full time presence to assist in the construction of storage tanks installed by a specialist contractor. As well as a full time presence we also had regular H&S compliance inspections.

Irrespective of the size of project there is no threshold for the implementation of CDM 2015 and it applies to ALL construction projects including domestic works.
CDM 2015 introduced the requirement on projects with more than one contractor to have a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.
